#local love

wcco cameo

Our “Do Whatever It Takes” online fundraiser for Virgin is still receiving off-the-wall pledges to raise money for youth homelessness through January, and recently got some local love from WCCO’s morning show. Reporter Natalie Kane chatted with some mono folks to learn more about the cause, idea, and adventures in eyebrow shaving. Watch above, and read the full story here.

Kelly_WOMN

a leader in design

We’re mighty proud to have Kelly Munson participating in a panel tomorrow called WOMN: Women in Minnesota Design. It’s a pretty big deal, too. As the Star Tribune said, “The criteria for inclusion in the “Leaders of Design” show were demanding. The women picked had to be professionally prominent, longtime Minnesotans who had demonstrated “leadership, innovation and influence” in the wide-open field of design.” Kelly will be joined by Sue Crolick and Cynthia Knox. Join us there.

Artcrank

mono cranks bike art

Around these parts, we gear up hard for ARTCRANK™ MSP. Dubbed “a poster party for bike people,” the show brings out the best in design from 41 local artists. We’re psyched to have 3 of our own selected to create posters this year: Kelly Munson, Steve Jockisch, and Milton Un. Kelly’s simplistic, cherry-powered design (shown above) even made it as the show headliner (we can see why). Join us at Shelter Studios on April 2nd for the big reveal and a great party.
