Penny Finds Her Brave

Parents at mono had a problem. Plenty of our kids just couldn’t get to sleep. The fear of boogeymen and other scary things meant less zzz’s for all. So we put our heads together and created an iPad app to help our young ones overcome fears. Called “Penny Finds Her Brave,” the app is part interactive storybook, part bravery detector, and part night-light. It tells the story of a girl named Penny who is scared of everything until she meets Seymour, the bravery detector. Get Penny in the App Store, and check her out on Fast Company’s Co.Create and Creativity Online.

GOOD Attacks!

mono joined forces with GOOD to create a new platform to take on social, economic and environmental issues. GOOD Attacks! uses micro-volunteering as a vehicle to raise attention to a problem and spark change. Our first GOOD Attack! was in L.A., attacking the problem of traffic congestion. We leveraged GOOD’s well known use of infographics and created their first human one. Watch for more GOOD Attacks! Or be part of the next one.

Every city has a hot-button issue. In Los Angeles, it’s traffic. GOOD teamed with mono to stage the first in a series of community events called GOOD Attacks! L.A. Transportation. This Saturday, December 17, volunteers are called to assemble downtown as part of a giant human infographic. The first 200 get a t-shirt (which have been screenprinted directly within mono’s friendly confines). Learn more and take part.

Virgin

do whatever it takes

What would you do to end youth homelessness? Our “Do Whatever It Takes” campaign for Virgin Unite + Virgin Mobile is a social good campaign designed to empower a generation to do just that. On Dowhateverittakes.org, anyone can pledge to do “whatever” if a donation goal is met. Eating fried worms, streaking the quad, wearing underwear on your head to work = all fair game (for example, the mono girls raised $1,000 and are doing this). Learn more on Ad Age and Creativity.

no more excuses

Today, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota starts running a campaign to influence a healthier tomorrow for all. We’ve been working with them on efforts such as The Human Doing to encourage Minnesotans to actively make healthier choices, because, let’s face it: making excuses is easy. Doing something today is hard. Let us know what you think @mono_mpls, and for an HD, sharable version, click here.
